Raúl Arias Lovillo, rector de la UV, dijo que no se prestará a chantajes y que no hay forma de hacer una excepción a las reglas universitarias para permitir que la joven Verónica Capitaine, quien hoy se encadenó en un pilar del Palacio de Gobierno, entre a la Universidad Veracruzana, toda vez que ni siquiera podría alcanzar un lugar con la lista de corrimiento.
En entrevista, en Palacio de Gobierno, minutos después que la joven se pusiera las cadenas, el rector de la UV dijo que ayer sostuvo una charla con la joven y con otro estudiante:
"Les hicimos ver que un compromiso del rector es el respeto a la normatividad que los propios universitarios dan y no podemos, a partir de esta presión hacer una excepción a una regla que ha sido avalada no solo por la comunidad universitaria si no por la sociedad".
Se le propuso capacitarla para el próximo año, -sostuvo Arias Lovillo- para tratar de que tuviera buenos resultados en su examen de ingreso, incluso si no le convenía esa alternativa, le propusimos que a través del gobierno del estado buscara la beca que se están otorgando, sin embargo lo rechazó.
El funcionario universitario refirió que no deja de preocuparles que se tenga que llegar a esos extremos con la finalidad de presionar cuando evidentemente no se puede acceder, y si ahora se accede nosotros vamos a tener el próximo año tal vez decenas de personas que utilicen la misma vía, por lo que hizo un llamado que la "la vida de una persona está por encima de cualquier cosa".
Expuso que Verónica no alcanza lugar en la UV, ni siquiera en el proceso de corrimiento, porque ella obtuvo en el examen de admisión el lugar 171 de 138 lugares, y con el corrimiento se aceptarán de 15 a 20 alumnos, por lo que quedaría fuera.
Por lo que expresó que su actuación no es de mala fe y agregó que espera que detrás de la joven de San Andrés Tuxtla no esté ningún grupo político, "porque eso sería criminal".
